If you are in crisis, please don't write to us. Arrive is a wellbeing app and we are not a crisis service. Contact your local emergency number, or a crisis line: call or text 1737 in New Zealand, Lifeline on 13 11 14 in Australia, call or text 988 in the US and Canada, Samaritans on 116 123 in the UK and Ireland.

Fix it yourself in a minute

Most of what people write in about is below. If yours is here you will have it sorted before we can reply.

No sound, or no voice

Every practice is talked through, so silence points at one of four things:

  1. The ring/silent switch. Arrive plays through the media channel, so it stays quiet if your phone is silenced with media volume at zero. Press volume up while a practice runs, since the buttons control whichever channel is playing.
  2. Another app owns the audio. Arrive mixes politely instead of seizing the output, so a podcast or a call can bury the guidance underneath it. Pause the other app and start again.
  3. Bluetooth. Check the audio is not still going to headphones or a car stereo in another room. Swipe into Control Centre and look at the output picker.
  4. Voice switched off. Arrive has separate controls for voice, ambience and tones. Open Settings inside the app and check the voice switch.

If the app is silent everywhere, including the end chime, force-quit it and open it again. Still silent, write to us and say which iPhone and which iOS version.

Heart-rate variability isn't showing

The weekly HRV trend is the one part of Arrive that needs hardware and time. Three things have to be true:

Everything else in Arrive runs with no watch and no Health permission at all.

The daily reminder isn't appearing

Arrive's reminder is a calendar event, not a notification. An appointment sits in the day you can already see, you can move it, and you can delete it yourself instead of hunting for a switch.

If you turned it on and see nothing:

To stop it, delete the event or turn the reminder off in Arrive's settings. Both work and neither breaks anything.

New phone, and my history is empty

Arrive stores everything on the device and nothing on a server, so there is no account to sign into and nothing to sync down. That is the trade for having no server, and it cuts both ways.

To carry your history across: restore the new phone from an iPhone backup, either iCloud or an encrypted Finder backup on a computer. App data rides along in those. Setting up a new phone as new and re-downloading Arrive gives you a fresh, empty app.

If the history has already gone we cannot recover it, because we never had a copy. Your history is not the valuable part. The practices are, and they are all still there.

Face ID won't let me in

The app lock is off by default. If you turned it on and it now refuses you, iOS is doing the authenticating rather than Arrive:

Deleting and reinstalling removes the lock and your history with it. Try the passcode first.

The widget or Live Activity is missing

Widget: long-press an empty part of your home screen, tap the + in the corner, search for Arrive, add the size you want.

Live Activity: check Settings → Apps → Arrive → Live Activities is on. It appears once a practice runs and goes when it ends. The Dynamic Island wants an iPhone 14 Pro or later; on other iPhones the same activity shows on the lock screen.

Reporting a bug

Arrive sends us nothing, so we have no way of knowing something went wrong. Your message is how we find out. What helps:

Refunds

Apple handles refunds for every App Store purchase, including ours. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Tell us as well, because a refund is the clearest feedback there is and we would like to know what missed.

Requests, and things you hated

Both welcome, and the second is more useful. If a practice was badly explained, if a voice line was strange, if the app offered you a shake-out on a day you had nothing left, write in. That last one is the mistake the whole routing engine exists to avoid, and we would want to know the same day.

Still stuck
